Overview of Epoxy Industrial Paint

    Definition of Epoxy Industrial Paint

Epoxy Industrial paint is a type of industrial coating that has developed extremely rapidly in recent years. Generally speaking, coatings that contain a relatively high amount of epoxy groups in their composition are collectively referred to as epoxy industrial paints. The main type of epoxy industrial paint is a two-component coating, which consists of epoxy resin and a curing agent. There are also some single-component self-drying types, but their performance is significantly inferior to that of two-component coatings.

    Characteristics of Epoxy Industrial Paint

    Adhesion

Epoxy Industrial paint is currently the strongest type of paint in terms of adhesion. When used on workpieces, the paint coating is very firm and not easy to flake off. Its adhesion to materials such as steel, cement, fiberglass, and galvanized steel is better than that of ordinary alkyd and nitrocellulose paints, and superior to most topcoat varieties.

    Alkali Resistance

Epoxy Industrial paint has good alkali resistance. It can be used as an anti-alkaline primer for concrete and walls, as well as an anti-corrosion topcoat for interior alkaline corrosion conditions. This alkali resistance is a feature that ordinary paints like alkyd and nitrocellulose paints do not possess.

    Film Strength

The paint film of epoxy industrial paint is tough, impact-resistant, and wear-resistant, with good flexibility and bending resistance. It is suitable for application on mining machinery, engineering facilities, and other surfaces that undergo frequent friction, impact, and stone chipping. The performance of alkyd and nitrocellulose paints does not match up to this level.

    Compatibility

The primer types of epoxy industrial paint can be compatible with mainstream mid to high-end topcoat varieties such as chlorinated rubber paint, acrylic polyurethane paint, and fluorocarbon paint. In contrast, alkyd and nitrocellulose paints are either incompatible or unsuitable.

    Solvent Resistance

Including resistance to alcohol, gasoline, motor oil, kerosene, hydraulic oil, and other oil-based solvents, epoxy industrial paint is far superior to ordinary paints like alkyd and nitrocellulose paints. It can be used for internal coating of oil tanks and hydraulic equipment.

    Humidity Resistance

Epoxy Industrial paint from leading coating paint manufacturer is resistant to humid heat and moisture, making it suitable for painting in environments with humid air, underwater, and sewage.

    Functionality

The functionality of epoxy industrial paint is diverse. Examples include epoxy sealer primer for alkali-resistant sealing coatings on walls and floors, epoxy zinc-rich primer for anti-corrosion and rust-proof primer on steel structures, epoxy light gray primer for fiberglass, epoxy white primer for metal primers, epoxy mid coat and alkali-resistant sealer primer for fluorocarbon exterior wall coating systems, and epoxy floor paint for floor painting. Additional examples include epoxy coal tar paint for anti-corrosion coating of underground pipelines.
